boca-abajo
2 channel video installation with live Band music
Cine Morelos 1999/ Cuernavaca Morelos Mexico

The video was taken during the first  project in Mexico to control  the disease of Chagas (Kissing bug) in México. (Disease that exists all over Latinamerica but that Mexico didn't officially recognize until 1998). The footage documents in slow motion the interiors of several rural houses, that were about to being sprayed against the bug, and therefore in a special situation:  furniture removed from its original spot, open  and empty wardrobes, lifted matrasses and piles of things hidden under fabrics, etc . The video was simmultaneously projected in two sepparated but connected to eachother cinema rooms, while a local band of 10 musicians  who were randomly  placed  between the spectators seats  played funeral siongs.
Soundtrack: voices of  a busstation  ( the sound of this video  has to be determined depending on projection context ).
