3 channel video and 4 channel audio installation
Sala de arte Publico Siqueiros
2006 / Mexico DF

The installation consists of a 4 channel sound composition in which we percieve incidental sounds of a setting of a paramedics training on emergency situations. Paralel to the audio piece we have three simultaneus projections, with no relation to the sound basically steady shots , that work like suspended scenes that resemble a dearticulated story suspendend in time.

The audio piece although it is a recreation, reveals certain real tensions and fears both involved in the paramedics work, the patient or victim and even the alert counsiusness in these situations.

The piece is as well a critical approach on how image is being used and consumed in general. It is a invitation to the spectator and to find a new accsess to these issues and a rereading of these situations.

Finally it is a response to the dominant mediatic culture and to a saturated visual code we are exposed. The piece doesn't wants to compete with it, but aims to revalue our capacity of observation and perception to find new meanings to certain situations in life.
